Kippers
Achiltibuie Kippers are prepared from herring
with a high oil content which is good for your
health. Our Kippers are hand split from whole
herring to ensure the very best eating quality.
The Kippers are then immersed in a simple salt
brine and are slowly smoked for 12-14 hours in
a gentle stream of cool fragrant smoke from smouldering
oak shavings left over from whisky casks.
No artificial dye is used so the kippers colour
is a pale gold brown which comes from the natural
oak smoke only.
